Arts Project Australia
Digital Imaging Project: APA is a centre of excellence that supports artists with intellectual disabilities, promoting their work and advocating for their inclusion within contemporary art practice. A pilot program, introducing digital imaging equipment and a specific art worker into the studio, was funded. The program was pitched at the younger artists in the studio and art works produced were included in an exhibition held in March 2012. The program was so successful and popular amongst the artists that it is to be extended to a four-day a week Digital Media Program in 2012, funded by APA. artsproject.org.au

Part Funding of CEO salary: The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is Australia’s leading asylum seeker organisation. It is a multi award-winning, independent and non-federal government funded human rights organisation. Kids Leaving Care Packs: Funds were used to purchase Kids Leaving Care packs for adolescents leaving their residential care units and setting up home independently. These packs help the recipients make a more successful transition into the community. berrystreet.org.au
Cancer Council of Victoria
The Forgotten Cancers Project: Funds went towards an epidemiological study aimed at addressing the lack of knowledge that exists about the causes of less common cancers (e.g. lymphoma, leukaemia, multiple myeloma, kidney, bladder and thyroid cancers). cancervic.org.au
Cheshire School
Scholarships: The Cheshire School provides a specialised 12-month Intervention Program to assist children from Prep through to Grade 6, who have demonstrated significant social, emotional and behavioural problems in their mainstream schooling. In a supportive and caring environment, Cheshire helps children and families to identify the fundamental causes of a child’s issues and to overcome the disruptive behaviours that may have become part of everyday life. Cottage by the Sea
REEF Camp Program for Disadvantaged Children: Funds were used for three camps for Grade 6 children from Geelong with health, economic or social issues. These camps help the children to build self-esteem, and develop self-reflection and community leadership skills. ccottagebythesea.com.au
The Fred Hollows Foundation
Anaemia Prevention Program (Sprinkles): Funds supported a program developed to combat the severe iron deficiencies in many indigenous infants in remote communities in the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. The program involves providing dietary supplements and general health education as preventative strategies to reduce the incidence of anaemia. hollows.org.au
Hamlin Fistula Relief and Aid Fund
Medical Equipment: The Hamlin Fistula Relief and Aid Fund are committed to the treatment and care of women with obstetric fistula and to the prevention of the condition in Ethiopia. Funds were used to purchase a vaginal probe/ X-ray unit, to improve diagnostic testing of patients, preparatory to surgery, and to improve patient safety and overall care at the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. hamlinfistula.org.au
Koala Kid
Koala Kids Holiday Program/RCH Education Institute Consumables: Funds were used to supply entertainment for children with cancer and their siblings while the children waited at the hospital for treatment. Funds were also provided to purchase consumables used by the Education Institute at the hospital. koalakids.org.au
Lighthouse Foundation
Adult Community Transition Program: Lighthouse Foundation is an organisation dedicated to eliminating youth homelessness. They provide long-term neglected and abused children with a home and around-the-clock therapeutic care. Funds were used to support the Adult Community Transition Program for a home in Cheltenham, where young people learn independent living skills as they get ready to transition from Lighthouse back into the community. lighthousefoundation.org.au
Medecins Sans Frontier
Haiti Fund: Funds were used to support the work of MSF in Haiti, where the organisation runs six private hospitals. MSF’s priorities are obstetrics, trauma and emergency care. msf.org.au
Mittagundi
Equipment: Mittagundi is an outdoor education centre established with the belief that young people, mountains, purposeful work and challenges are natural partners. Mittagundi is situated on a 400-acre property near the old gold mining town of Glen Valley in Victoria. Funds were used to purchase farm equipment. mittagundi.org.au
